Gun State ID vs NV

I have to add a bit more perspective to what 444 is saying: The wife is manager for a large and very modern grocery store. Figured on a 40 hour week she brings home less than $10 an hour, and makes about $13.50 before taxes. This makes her one of the best paid employees in this county. Our house is a 3000 sq ft log home with roughly 1800 sq ft of wrap around porch and balcony, three years old, on a lake in the middle of 40 wooded acres.

Appraisal: $195k...(am I wrong to think it should have been a bit higher, based on what some of you guys are buying?)

So it's all relative. I'd think your prices are insane even before the Californicans get there, and there really are still places where costs and prices are almost normal. OTOH I'd love to have a copy of this piece of property near, say, LA? Few miles out...I'd retire now and enjoy life. :)

Oh, but, umm, don't move here for the costs. We have mosquitos that open screen doors, ticks that carry off small children and pets, water mocassins, copperheads, rattle snakes and, umm, oh yeah, Bloomington is WAY too close for comfort... :scrutiny:

I grew up in Northern Idaho but I'm currently stationed in Oregon with the military. I have lived all over the Northwest and can tell you that Californians are destroying the entire Northwest. I personally have nothing against Californians but what I do have a problem with is that they bring the very politics they were running from and force them on the new communities they migrate too.

Places that have always been conservative are now liberal and elect liberal candidates thanks to the Californians that have moved in. Coeur d' Alene is one such place. It used to be a great place to live but now it's over run with Californians and their politics. I certainly would not move back to CDA. :banghead:

LBTRS

Boo hoo

Let me get this straight. All the liberals from around the country have moved to CA because they either couldn't get a job in their home state, or got tired of freezing their arses off. Now these same libs are moving back where they came from. Sounds good to me!!!

It's poetic justice because you all are getting your own carpetbagging liberals back that you sent us over the last 50 years. If all the people left my neighborhood that aren't even from CA, 50% or more of my neighbors would be gone! As a previous poster pointed out, CA elected Reagan as governor and was a moderate state politically until the rest of the states and Mexico sent their dregs here.

If I had a buck for every fruitcake wannabe musician or actor I've passed on the road with out of state plates and their life's belongings in the back seat, I'd be able to retire.

As I said, I grew up in Idaho and personally know of no one that has moved to California. I know hundreds that moved from California to Idaho and Southern Oregon is even worse. I'll keep my eyes open for all those people migrating out of the Northwest to California.

IDAHO is a great State.

I'm in Idaho - it's a nightmare. Nazi's everywhere, two seasons - winter and road construction, Kalifornians are taking over.

Yeah right.

Drive to Las Vegas, then to Reno, then to Boise. Enjoy Boise :)

Idaho is one of the best States (if not the best) in the entire United States.

But be careful, when driving in from the Nevada border into Idaho you have to pay the Nazi Guards who are in Waffen SS uniform $10 in TOLL fees.

The only thing I like better about Nevada is no State Income Tax. But it's just too damn polluted and crowded.
