So I have some 8lb kegs of Unique that I decided not to use. I put them on Gunbroker.

One is up to $256 plus $40 shipping. :what:

Just listed the other so we'll see what happens with that.

Local store has plenty of Unique for $120.

Decided to diversify a little. Plenty of Accurate and Hodgdon to be found for some reason.

EDIT: Still no stinking primers though.

How do you intend to ship the powder? Unless you're HazMat qualified, that could be problematic.

Never mind, I don't want to know......

Fred

I think you will have to ship from a UPS hub (not store) and box will have to be marked ORM-D.

You have to be certified?:uhoh:
Yep, http://www.ups.com/using/services/accs/hazmat/hzm_home.html

Basically you'll need:

• An UPS daily pick-up account.
• Hazardous Material training either by DOT or UPS. Training seminars run around $550
• On-site inspection of your place of business from an UPS inspector.
• If the inspection is accepted you'll then have to sign a Haz Mat contract with UPS.

Fedex

Can ship Hazmat Fedex ground. Their online training course is only $150.

That would work for small arms ammunition. This falls under Flammable solids class 4.1 I think.

That is for shipping loaded ammo only.

Powder or primers (only) are much more challenging to ship legally; most people can't.

Give 20 bucks and a case of beer to someone who is certified.

And for heaven's sake, wear a mask. It is customary in America to wear a mask when committing robbery.:neener:

The right thing to do would be to pull the powder from auction with an explanation that you weren't aware of the requirements necessary to legally ship a product classified as hazardous. In your correspondence with gunbroker you could bring into question the many similar auctions for powder and primers where the legal shipping requirements seem to be ignored.

Or, I suppose you could call it "machine parts" and take your chances.. :)

I personally don't believe it is any of our business to tell the original poster how to conduct his business.

Just my $0.02.

The next time you sell something like that list it as only being for sale if the buyer can pick it up from you face to face. I have seen a few sales like that before on GB. All of the items sold also.

You won't have any problem selling powder or primers or ammo to local folks. Plus some of these buyers will drive quite a distance to save the shipping.

I have bought two guns on GB that were FTF. I have sold two that were FTF and always offer that option on any of my sales.

Back to the original topic, an 8-lb keg of Unique went for $380???? purt' near $50 A POUND!!! I'm astonished.

Whats really funny is that Natchez has 4# kegs for $55 and 8# kegs for $100 right now on 4/28/09 at 9:04 PM. I just looked.
