I don't see this posted anywhere else, so apologies if this is a duplicate thread. I heard the story this morning on NPR:

I don't know this guy, but I know of his company. His attempt to pour his guts out to one of the most liberal media outlets was very ill-advised. But I don't know enough about the situation to know if there is more to it than that. The NPR report did at least mention that a federal background check was required, though they had to get a quip in about all the "assault weapons" in the store.
