maybe this one one wont get closed like my DPMS sponsering fighters thread

once agin real happy to see "the firearms industry" getting "air time" like that during the UFC.

wonder how many fighters these days are getting good sponserships these days??

Maybe Hughes and Tim Sylvia.

I know both of them hunt. I think Hughes had dpms on his shorts once, not sure though.

Serra lost tonite. Too bad my friend and I both thought GSP was going to win, otherwise I would have won 10 bucks. lol

"my friend and I both thought GSP was going to win"

You and the rest of the world.I think GSP was getting like 5:1 odds in Vegas, even though he lost the last one. It was a fluke he lost the last time, but such is the nature of fighting: luck plays a role, which is why no matter how good you are, you can still get taken out by a good old fashioned hay maker you didn't see coming by a lesser fighter. Saw that too many times growing up in Brooklyn, and why I try to stay out of fights!:what:

OK, back to gun talk. I'm thrilled the industry is backing some of these guys, and I would bet $$$ the owner of UFC, will tell people to screw off if they complain about it. Some PC anti gun type will get their panties in a wad over it at some point, if they have not already, but UFC by it's nature, is not exactly PC land anyway...;)

willbrink,

Honestly, I'd love to hear Dana White's response to some anti-gun P.C. Bedwetter. I'm guessing that'd be PG13 at best, and chock full of comedy.

We both know what Dana would say, and it would be one bleep after another if it made it to TV! :D

I like UFC and I am pleased to see some firearms sponsorship occuring. I know there is a sponsor for Glock in NASCAR too. The question is, would this ever spread to more main-stream sports; NFL, NBA, etc? I am not sure it would.

This was nice to see with Serra (bet that TKO hurt last night) but I wish it had been gun broker rather than guns america. The GA web site needs a lot of work.

Whoa Canada! GSP Regains Title with TKO of Serra

That'd depend on which Dana we got. Sometimes Dana's "Mr. Professional." Sometimes he just lets people have it with both barrels, cameras be damned. Either way though, I'm sure the response would be epic.

it would crack most of us up something fierce im sure

I first noticed the DPMS in Boetsch's corner at UFC 82. I pointed it out to my buddies and they all told me to get off the crack.

Then on a second pass of the camera they shut up.

I was astounded to see the Guns America add on Serra's shirt. I thought that was awesome. So much so I wanted to cheer for him instead of GSP.

I kinda find it demeaning, in a disconnected kind of way.
Like all gun owners are the kind of people who'd watch "ultimate fighting".
I mean, my friends and I beat up on each other all the time, but there is more to the gun community than that kind of person.
I don't find anything wrong with it (the UFC), I just see it as a sort of undeserved one-dimensionality.

first and formost friend, the term is MMA. that is MixedMartialArts.

it bugs alot of us when the sport enitre sport gets blanketed with "ultimate fighting".

im really not sure what your getting at BTW, your saying that its not good advertising for us gun owners??

i dont see a corelation between a sanctioned sport {both ammy and pro in my state} and you and your friends thinking you can fight and trying it out on each other.

ok sorry that wasnt all that highroad but my point is, our sport is filled with ALL types of people just like the firearms community and we tire of the whole human cockfighting image of drunken brawlers the the media and guys like john mcain have labled us.
