Guns America?

I sell on GA. It's a snap. The latest thing I sold was a Mini 30 rifle.

I've had a couple of no pays, but heck......I just relisted the stuff and it sold to decent people.

It is my go to place, but I have to say, I'm not a volume seller. Just a little guy.

I treat the buyers with the utmost of respect and have no complaints over my meager number of sales.

I have questioned a few volume people on there over their practices of leaving the same freakin' add in after an item has sold. I do not agree with their "methods"

I have a handfull of items yet to go and I will be posting them there.

I bought my FNAR and FN49 through them, seemed pretty much like Gunbroker, or any other "we don't stand behind the deals made here" type auction-house :D

I like that it's an offer-based system, which keeps people from betting on bidders driving things up as much. 95% of the listings on Gunbroker are worthless because of their reserve system.

Several of my firearms came from Gunsamerica sellers. Good transactions, no hassles, guns as described.

The website is very useful, because it displays ACTUAL ASKING PRICES, not the figures derived from weeks of bidding or pie-in-the-sky "hopes" . This means that the prices asked do have some relationship to reality.

Why does it matter where the "asking prices" come from, anyway. Prices from GA are no more legit than those from elsewhere. I've seen plenty of outrageous "asking prices" on GA. Who cares. Just don't buy them.

The discount between the asking price average and selling price is not always as great as expected. Check out SKS data for a bunch of auction sites:

SKS asking prices

SKS selling prices

Just recently, with some of the panic subsiding (at least the volume of sales tapering off), the discount between asking and the actual selling prices had widened.

I agree, doesn't matter what someone asks for an item; the only thing that matters is what people are willing to pay.

I have sold many guns on:
G-America
G-broker
G-auction
of the 3, G-auction is the only one with customer service. Phone or email with problems. Any funny business and "poof" the offender is deleted.
Also you can dispute a fee with a friendly phone call

I attempted to purchas some S&W 4006 magazines on GA and the listing was very confusing. The site stated that the item had already been sold but the listing stated that the seller had an "unlimited" supply.

When I contacted the seller Robertson's Trading Post of Henderson TN. They stated that they did have several of the magazines in stock

I use GA a fair amount, if it was more of an auction site and less of a classifieds I would use it more, but when I want to find something specific and want to just "buy it now" instead of waiting for an auction to run down, GA is where I go. No problems so far out of 10 or so transactions, but I tend to prefer GAuction as they have better customer protection.

Yea, that's kind of how it works if you have a lot of the same items, instead of listing 300 auctions for the 300 such-and-such you have, they list one listing and sell multiples of that listing.
If I had doubts about the seller I'd be wary, as it might be considered an "off site" transaction if the item is already "sold", but Robertsons trading post are good people, I have bought a few things from them, and i'm very much in love with the preB cz75 I got from them a while back.

Like any gun-site you have to use caution. I've used GA before with great results, and also used them and got burned. That was totally the result of a dishonest seller and could happen on any site. Look at the feedback on sellers if your buying. Don't expect GA or any site to get very involved in a transaction dispute.

My point in this post was to indicate that REAL ASKING PRICES, taken in large samples, offer a fairly-realistic idea of what other people are expecting to receive for their guns, i.e.:
MARKET PRICES.

I'm perfectly capable of forming my own opinion of what I will (or will not) pay for a given item.
