Personally, to me it sounds like these were planted to forward someone's agenda!

FLINT, Michigan (AP) -- -- A group of children hunting for Easter eggs Saturday during a church event found two loaded handguns outside an elementary school.

Flint police said officers were called to the scene and also recovered a BB gun and a broken toy gun on the grounds of Gundry Elementary School. No one was injured, Sgt. Michael Coote said.

One of the guns discharged when it was dropped, according to a police report, but it was unclear who dropped it.

The pastor of Ruth Street Baptist Church told WJRT-TV that one of the handguns had a bullet in the chamber, and the other handgun's clip had bullets in it.

"It's terrible that something like this has happened," Pastor Namon Marshall told the station.

Coote said he did not know how long the guns had been in the park.

Police opened an investigation after confiscating the weapons.

How do you fit one of these:

Into one of these:

   :scrutiny:

Moparmike:

A generous amount of force should do it. ;-)

You honestly think that the same people who write all about how the AWB protects us from AK-47s and Uzis are going to get firearms terminology right? I mean, how often do you see average non-firearms people say "clip" in movies/TV/RL when they mean magazine? Hell, I even hear firearms people misuse the term a lot because they're so used to hearing it the wrong way or sometimes don't even know the difference.

Sombody didn't listen in the Eddie Eagle class!

I would eb will to bet non of them went to the eddie eagle class ..

Doesnt surprise me at all they would find guns Flint is just as bad if not worse than detroit any more cops are afraid to go into flint.

Moparmike, those clips have 8 cartridges in them. If you take out the bullets and put them in the clip like the article said, THEN you can fit them into the gun. The .30-06 brass is way too long to get in that grip. Note they said the bullet is in the chamber. It would be impossible to put an entire .30-06 cartridge a 1911 chamber, but if you remove the bullet, then it is possible.

Thugs and drug dealers etc. who actually have SOME concept of what they are doing RARELY carry a firearm ON their person while dealing drugs/stealing etc. They will often stash their hardware at a 'safe' location should they need it. But, they dont want to get it taken away and themselves put in jail if the get patted down. They can swallow/toss a little baggie of drugs a lot easier than a pistol. Sounds like they found a popular stash.

A thought comes to mind, yeah I know it's unfamiliar territory...

I think this says something good about the kids that found the wayward guns, they told an adult before one of them got hurt and/or killed.

Just think of how the gun-grabbers would have turned this more into their favor if the kids had picked up the guns and played with them just like they do at home.:uhoh: :uhoh:

EDIT: BluesBear has the right sig line;

You don't need to Childproof the Guns, You need to Gunproof the Children.

Jay Leno reported that Bush wouldn't be participating in the White House Easter egg hunt. The Pres was worried that, after the WMD fiasco, he wouldn't find any eggs, either! :D

If I am somewhere close to correct, I think that the "fluted" .30-06 ammo is DUMMY ammo, used for training.

And as much as I have tried, I still can't get that .30-06 Garand en-bloc clip & ammo into my 1911....despite the [ahem] 'Liberal' use of a 9-Lb sledge...:D
