Guns in the movies

The most consistent error, IMO, is the sound issue. I just watched Platoon for the umpteenth time. When Elias (Willem Dafoe) goes into the Viet Cong tunnel with his .45 and shoots the enemy soldier he encounters there, his pistol just makes a little "pop" and he doesn't even flinch, despite not having a suppressor. You see this all the time: people firing un-suppressed handguns in cars, little rooms, etc. with no ill effects at all from the sound.

The movie Last Action Hero did play off a lot of these movie gun cliches.

If I remember, Arnold's character shoots a bad guy with a shotgun, and looked at it in confusion when he failed to go flying backwards 20 feet.

I'd love to see a satirical film that uses all the bad gun handling and cliches, like the guy who racks his shotgun multiple times and then actually doesn't have any ammo left and gets shot because of it. A real over the top ridiculous movie, because its more true to life than the typical Hollywierd nonsense. Tarantino could direct it.
