Guns of Every Day Carry Czech Republic

I made some friends when I visited the Czech Republic. I always thought that Prague was the crown jewel of Europe. They were unsettled by how much I talked about guns though. I'll never forget how beautiful the women were.

How much did you talk about guns? The fact is that guns are non-issue here (at least they were until the Uherský Brod shooting). There are next to no antis and gun folk tend to talk about guns only with other gun folk. With carry being strictly concealed only most people don't even realize how precious our laws are and take for granted they can get a CC license and gun within a couple of weeks after they decide they need one. Almost none of non-gunners here are actually aware that laws are much more restricted elsewhere in EU.

After the Charlie Hebdo shooting, few people came to me to talk about guns (I am known for always being willing to introduce new people to firearms). They were all genuinely surprised that people in France can't own guns for self defense like the Czechs can (even though these people didn't own any themselves).

When I tell the non-gun Czechs what kind of bureaucratic crap people in countries like Germany have to go through with the obligatory sport shooting club membership and no-warrant police home checks of gun safe keeping, and that the Charlie Hebdo editor-in-chief was a sport shooter, was on al-qaeda death list and still didn't get his CC license approved by French government, I can always literally see light in their eyes when they realize how lucky they are to live in a free society where every citizen is not considered as a possible gun wielding murderer by the government.

Very cool!

I really like CZ guns but my favorite export from the Czech republic isn't guns. It's Pilsner Urquell!! :D

Czech police was active today, busting a guy with quite a nice collection.

I guess when he got to the point where he had 29 guns legally he just couldn't resist to get his hands on some full-autos without getting the may-issue full-auto permit.

It is unlikely that he would be imprisoned for that (they are now overcharging him with up to 8 years), but his license will definitely be revoked and the 29 legally owned guns will confiscated.

What is the penalty in the US for illegal guns, such as full autos without proper paperwork?

A question for the original poster, and others with knowledge: does the Czech Republic have any provision for visiting Americans to carry concealed in public?

The provisions are clear - you need to have a Czech CC license. Even Czech cops need to get the CC license if they want to carry a private firearm after the shift is over. No exceptions (maybe apart from diplomatic staff from embassy - but I would not bet my money on that either since Palestinians had quite a few problems after guns were discovered at their embassy by the police).
