First, I want to caveat the following by pointing out that Christmas is not about receiving things. It is about love, and no tangible THING can compare to the love in your wife's (husbands, or other SO's) eyes when they open that "special gift", the joy in your daughter's eyes when she watches her child have their first real Christmas, or the smile on your grandson's face that he gives you "just because."

That said, there are still some things that you kinda wished you had gotten. This year, for me it is a
T/C Venture in 6.5 CM and a CZ 457 in 6.5 Grendel.

But the T/C rebate doesn't end until New Year's Eve and I haven't made up between Birch and Walnut on the CZ stock. And, besides, Santa has been very busy with other things so there is still hope!

Merry Christmas, and God bless us everyone!

I have been waiting all day. But it seems Santa won't be making a second fly through to deliver me a new Mausingfield action or a Criterion barrel, prechambered in six Creedmoor. I looked under the tree several times, no Winchester SXfour. I did find a small box and shook it. It turned out to be screw diver set, not a Jewel trigger set. The large box ended up being penguin and polar bear sleds for my children.(Thank you Gramma) Not a new McMillan stock with adjustable comb.:(

Did I really expect to find three thousand dollars worth of rifle parts and assemblies under the tree this year? Not a chance.;)

This year was the best Christmas yet. And I have so much to look forward to next year I feel guilty.

I hope the rest of you are as blessed.

My wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I said I wanted to get a custom contender carbine barrel built and she said go ahead and order it. I was just about to do so and then bought a krag instead. So I'll have to wait till the next time I have $400 burning in my pocket for the contender.

Old bait and switch at work.

I really wish Santa would have showed up with some rings and bases. Guess he didn't have time. Oh well, at least my nephew was happy with his new to him 30-30!
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Walnut Remington 750 in .30-06. Just to get my wife motivated to go moose hunting with me and not having to use something that either looks like a prop from an action movie or or is chambered in a rifle cartridge larger than the diameter of her index finger. She has petite fingers, but still.

Santa didn't bring me a JP Enterprise in .224 Valkyrie ( ... probably because they haven't put them on the shelves yet).

You'd think Santa could've done something if he had of wanted to though. We used to be tight. I've been good, we put up a tree, I taught my son about him and we watch Christmas themed films beginning after Thanksgiving. What gives?

It isn't? :what:

I thought Charlie Brown was complaining back in the 1960's that Madison Avenue had already downed out "the true meaning of Christmas". After all, doesn't Charlie Brown's own sister echo the current attitude of most Americans saying, "All I want is what I've got coming to me; all I want is my fair share." without considering the full implications of such a request?

I had a Sig p226 elite rx (or maybe a legion.) on the wish list but was very happy with the Mossberg 930 JM and like 750 rounds of assorted ammunition. She spoils me pretty good.

Of course I had about $1000 in my safe (My gun money) And my boss gave us a $1000 bonus and I spent $1900 of it spoiling her and the 3 kids. Always feels good to watch them all open up their gifts. And karma being what it is the boss gave me an additional $1500 bonus yesterday.

Gonna be going on a family vaction for the first time in a few years so that will come in handy. My birthday is right around income tax return time so im hoping to add that Sig to the stable then.

I didn't get the sear ready HK23E beltfed again this year either ... Lord knows I'm not going to pay that kind of $$$ ... Oh well, maybe in '18!

I got a new target stand from Santa. I was a bad boy and spent too much on Garands and Springfields this year but it was a once in a life time chance.
