Anyone going to the Gunshow at Fair Park in Dallas this weekend? Is it worth going to? Thanks.

The last one wasn't. All the big dealers were at Mesquite. I suspect that they will all be at the Amon Carter show this weekend. I feel much better about leaving my car in Ft Worth than I do at the Cotton Bowl. Your call, but I would hit Amon Carter if you are looking for a show.

I went to the Great Western Show in Fair Park last time -- it seemed oriented to collectors and western fans, more than the general gun-buying public. But if you are interested in old military arms, western style arms, cowboy regalia, and the like, you might like it.

Thanks. Might head over to Ft worth instead. Somehow, I've missed Big Town and Dallas Arms Collector shows over the past 5 months.

I went to the Western States Gun Show at Fair Park back in November. I loved it! The only problem I had was the parking fee but, I have been told, that has been resolved. According to their website the show will be in the Automobile building and the Centennial building. Last year it was only the Automobile building.
The guns shows at Amon Carter that are run by Bob Norman used to be good shows but the last few years they have been very anemic.
What I like about Great Western is the variety. At most the local shows I see the same vendors at every show. Western States has vendors from a lot of different places.
I will definately be at Fair Park tomorrow!

It would have to be a pretty good show to get me to part with nine bucks, just to get in (though I have to agree that the Fort Worth shows have been getting pretty lame).

Can someone who goes on Saturday post some comments about it for those who might want to go on Sunday? Thanks...

I will try to post some observations but I must do the Mother's Day celebration or get my butt in a lot of trouble!
I personally think it is worth the $9.00. It is the best thing going in north Texas right now, IMHO.
I actually like this show better than the HGCA show at Reliant Center in Houston. Now there is a show that has gone down hill! It was great as long as it was at Astro Hall but after it moved to Reliant Center it went on the down hill slide.
