Take some black rifles to sale, and make a little bit on them? I can't decide, as much as I hate selling any of my firearms, I need some money to get into cowboy shooting. I was thinking about picking up an ar lower to build later into an SBR, but don't think I will be able to at the show, as it sounds like they are in short supply and the prices are too high right now. Should I make a bit of money now, or hold out with the thought the prices are never coming down and only going up.

It depends.
If you're a stock market kind of guy and want to bet on "Futures", either you believe that the AWB won't come back or you believe that it will and those rifles you have won't be available again in your lifetime.
If you think the AWB won't come back, then you'll win by selling in this panicked market because you'll be able to replace them later at less cost.
If you think the AWB will be re-enacted, then you might be selling too cheap right now.
So what kind of stock market guy are you?

While your at it, you should sell your car that goes too fast so you can buy a bicycle. The making money part is a good idea but why would you disarm yourself of effective weaponry? Sure, why not. It is probably the one type of rifle that will garner much attention at a show these days. Decide on your price before hand. Asking and lowest price etc.

I really hope all the panic is unfounded and prices will come down. There are no bans in the works that have any merit and there are a LOT of more pressing issues to address first in this country, not to mention the fact that every day we have a new record number of EBR owners in the U.S. I guess if anything, the panic buying is making them very "common use".

Well, I guess I am lucky enough to have at least 2 of the most popular styles of EBR. Neither one of these are my favorites, I just hate selling firearms. I typically always regret it. I can't have it all cause on the 15th I will be daddy to a second little girl, and these little things are expensive! So if I want to pick up another hobby, or even some more firearms right now, I have to find that money somewhere.
At the end of the day, I guess I really think/hope the prices will come back down a bit after the market catches up with demand, if not, I will just have to let it go.

I've accumulated a respectable stable of "evil black rifles", and I too am concerned about the direction things are going. Last weekend I took my least favorite AK to a gunshow and got $200 more than I had in it ( got $600) and it took all of 10 minutes to sell !! I'm considering letting one or two more go, as well. I figure, if the SHTF, two assault rifles, along with my pistols and shotguns, is plenty. Any more than that could easily turn into a liability.I know many here consider this some kind of treasonous capitulation, but finding out one day that owning these rifles may make us a felon and not being able to sell them at all,is a sad possibility we have to realistically consider.

Hang onto 'em! Cowboy action type-guns are unlikely to be further regulated any time soon. You can get them later; I don't expect prices to go up very much. New regulations may drive up the price of "EBRs" in the near future.

As I understand it, a new AWB has been introduced legislatively. By the time it gets out of committee the new administration will be there.
I've been buying and selling guns now for decades. There's not ONE GUN I've sold that I don't wish I hadn't sold it.
To paraphrase the Fabulous Furry Freak Bros.: "Guns will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no guns."
I got into trap shooting -- $1500 for a used Browning Citori and then I began to realize I was spending $200 - $250 or more per month on this stuff. And I sucked at it really bad.
I'd rather have the guns.
