Need a good gunsmith for S&W pistols in the Oklahoma City area. Would appreciate someone help. Thanks

Thanks but H&H range is backed up more than Smith & Wesson. 2 week return on S&W , three weeks before H&H can start.

Hmmm,
a couple weeks is a usual wait for smithing around here;
what you need done? I might know some one competent, depending on the issue.
Is it a third gen SW auto?

It is a S&W 10-6 the extractor comes off the pins everytime I open it. Some gunsmiths tell me they can solder it but Smith says it needs to be Brazed. They said solder will not hold.

Left something off. It was purchased new in 1971 when I started on the Police Department.

I'd just send it to SW and have them go over the whole pistol.

I agree, something that old could probably also use a good going through.
SW has a lifetime warranty, I wonder if it applies to older guns?

Yes it does. S&W said if I was the original owner the weapon was still under warranty. They are sending shipping labels for me to send the 38 back to them. Thanks

I think I solved my problem. I sent my 38 to S&W and went out and purchased my second S&W 619 357. Thanks for the help.

Glad to help; SW's customer service has been good to me.
Make sure you write up a letter to include that lists anything associated with any of the problems youve had.

This close to deer season Chris is way backed up. I heard over the weekend that they interviewed a young man from back east that will be coming to work there and assisting Chris. Hope this speeds things up he has one of mine that he has been holding a while, it is a real dicey custom job.
