I had an experience where I went to a late-night movie with a group of friends but left my headlights on. The friends were parked elsewhere, and left by the time I got to my car.
I hadn't shaved that day, so I was a bit scruffy, wearing a heavy coat (it was cold), and standing in a parking garage at 1am asking folks if they could give me a jump (I had the cables and everything). Took me about 30 minutes until a nice couple helped me out.
I can see how you would want to be concerned in such a situation, but I'm glad that everything worked out for all the parties involved.
