H.R.152 - Hearing Protection Act (2023)

o_O
Uhhhh.........by winning a majority of the seats.

Serious question....how long have you lived in the US?

I was responding to the series of comments that a) the anti-gun areas have more population and b) the House seats are allocated by population. Which I think was obvious, but you chose instead to make what you apparently believe to be a clever insult. I doubt anyone here finds that contributes to the discussion. Your graphic on how the districts can be differently configured was actually on point, you should have stopped there.

I'm sorry, but your questions imply a complete lack of understanding of how congressmen are elected, who they represent and how their districts are determined. Further, how a majority in the House is determined.

That's stuff I learned in elementary school/junior high. Being that you kept asking such basic questions I assumed you didn't grow up in the US.

You expect anyone to believe that?

My questions were intended to encourage the people making the assertions to think more about them.

I'm not going to continue this discussion.

Some of the most ignorant people I know when it comes to the US constitution and the workings of our (intended) system of government have grown up right here in the USA. When I ask an adult who is a product of our education system the “loaded” question:

“if 51 percent of the people think we should confiscate all weapons from everyone, regardless of what the other 49 percent think, or what the constitution says, is that ok?”

and their answer is “derp, yes, that’s how a democracy works! Majority rules!” like some idiotic preschooler debating with classmates about what to do during recess, I know it’s over. Being from the US is by no means a metric. Look at what home grown politicians have done, and want to do with the 2A. That says it all right there.

The mainstream news media is responsible for brainwashing people into the idea that anything connected with guns or the second amendment is a bad thing. I subscribed to a gun magazine and when the first issue came the mail carrier who I always joke around with said "I didn't know you were a gun nut"
She was just joking but you get the idea

HPA has zero chance of passing this Congress. Without a solid majority in the House and a likely unobtainable 57-43 in the Senate, sympathetic President, and a willingness for its proponents to do some horse-trading, such as HPA in exchange for some form of universal background check legislation to buy the necessary votes for cloture in the Senate, it has no hope period.

You expect anyone to believe that?
Well, yeah.

My questions were intended to encourage the people making the assertions to think more about them.
So you posed as someone ignorant of how Congress is elected, how districts are drawn and how a majority is determined in the House to encourage debate?
You expect anyone to believe that?

I'm not going to continue this discussion.
You should post a Youtube video.
