H&R 45/70....any good?

Local shop has a brand new H&R 45/70 single shot. 28" barrel I think. Does anyone have one and your thoughts in general on this gun. Thanks folks.

i dont personally have the 45-70 but my father had one in 243 and it was a good shooter i would think with that light weight gun some good strong loads could be a pretty good thumper on you

Great rifle, but a gun that size and weight in 45-70 will be a real bruiser.

I got one in 45/70 a few months ago. I really like it. Glad I got one. I had always wanted one and the others were priced outta my range. If I had had to do it over again I would. I have mine generaly sighted at 150 yards for cowboy action shooting. In practice I am averaging 3 of 6 hits. I am ok with that. Just need more practice. Good luck. Get it. Bob
