Well I just had my lgs order me an H&R buffalo classic about an hour and a half ago, it should be there next tuesday and I'll be picking it up the day after thanksgiving. I honestly think I'll have alot of fun with it, I'll be ordering dies and some brass soon I don't cast because I don't have the space but I've found some decent deals on bullets online about $50 per 250 for 405grs. I also talked to my local gunsmith today he casts alot of bullets, and said he should be able to hook me up with some bullets for quite a bit less.

Yes I will make sure to report back, even if I have to traipse through three feet of snow to get back to the range.

Kyle M,

You're in for a treat !

I have the Lee 405 gr FPFB and the Lee 405gr HB molds.

Have shot the Hunter supply 405 FPFB,and the FPFB Lee , with 65 and 70 grs Goex FFG.

Have some 385 gr Hornady FTX over H 4198 , but haven't shot any of those yet, also have the Lee HB 405 gr loaded with 70 Grs FFG to try.

One little tip, get a slip on recoil pad , you'll need it ! It's not unmanageable but it will grind you down by the time you get 15-20 rnds down the tube.

I was unable to get enough elevation on the rear sight to get my 405gr BP loads on target at 100 yds. Had to hold over but was finally able to get about a 5" group. I bet I can shrink those by 1/2 once I get used to the iron sights.

I mounted a Lyman #2 tang sight on the BC, it is way better for my eyesight, and gives more elevation. Going to shoot it this weekend with the HB, and FTX loads. Going to get a Creedmore style sight soon.

The BC is a great value for the price, has nice colors, and decent cut checkering on the walnut stock , just wish it had steel forearm iron and trigger guard.

You'll like yours, have fun!

its a great rifle, i wasn't a huge fan of the factory stock so i made my own with a good cheek rise and contorted grip. one thing to note though, if you plan to shoot past 200 yards you will run out of elevation adjustment on the rear sight, but there are plenty of aftermarket ones that fix that.
