I have a H & R model 930 revolver, 9 shot which misfires most
of the time. I have read about the plastic that breaks on the hammer
spring assembly but mine doewsn't have that type of assembly. Mine has
the assembly with a bent pin & is all metal. The bent pin looks normal
when looking at the schematic. (part #25) It just has a dipped out place in the hammer which it sits in.
All parts seem to be OK with no abnormal damage. I would very much like some input from someone before I just start ordering parts.

Thanks,
Rod

How ironic...I JUST walked in from the shop where I replaced the mainspring and guide on my H&R 922. I bought this pistol several years ago and it has always misfired some, but I lived with it. Well, a few weeks ago I disassembled it, stripped it and Parkerized the whole thing. It layed around long enough that I had to refer to a schematic to see how it went back together. In looking at the schematic I realized that the head was missing off the mainspring guide rod. It had a guide rod and spring exactly like you describe yours as having. So, I ordered the entire assembly from GPS with a steel head. Installed it tonight and walked outside and fired a full cylinder of nine with nary a single misfire.
Get a whole assembly here: H&R 930 Mainspring and Guide Assy.
Let us know how it works!

I ran into the same problem with my 932 in 32 S&W Long with the plastic head broken off the spring assy.
I replaced it with the metal head assy and with a dab of light grease on the cam.

Part arrived!!

I recieved the part you suggested I order & I installed in immediately.
Even though it looked about like the old one, the pistol fire 9 in a row
with no problem. It would never do that before. No doubt in my mind
that was the problem. I will continue to test when I get a chance but
I think that will do it.
Thanks very much for your time & advice:)

REALLY glad that worked out for you! Oh, and in my post above, I typo'ed the model...should've read model 929...NOT 922.
