Greetings all, I finally got around to sorting through my dad's things. There were a couple of old carpenter chests that I had to cut the locks off of. Now I knew he bought and traded guns often, as he got older the 30/6 was downsized to him using his Browning 20. semi auto shotgun with a slug. By that time he had already given me his Winchester Model 1898 38/40 rifle with an octagon barrel. At 100 yds he could mangle a quarter. Many a deer rode home on his hood after that trigger was squeezed. But the chests were full of early H&R top break revolvers, hammerless models as well as early Iver/Johnson models of the same type, S&W 38s, 22s, New England Firearms, Astra and other European models and ammo like I never knew existed in original boxes. Never even heard of some of the cals. But the 7 shot 32.cal H&R starter revolver really caught my eye. Huge oversized butt with wood grips and in the 95% range as far as condition. Problem is I couldn't find one listed anywhere that matched mine.Being a 7-shot , the overall largeness of the butt and the short stubby compactness of the revolver. Sorry I have a habit of rambling on. Comes from writing reports. Does anybody know the year and possibly the value. I noted the newer ones were fairly inexpensive.I am certainly not the outdoorsman or as knowledgable as my dad was and I prefer to shoot targets rather than game. But mess with America and you will be game. Appreciate your time. SamT
