As pointed out, I don't see any complete stainless guns; there are nickel plate receivers and SOME stainless barrels (on backorder), but nothing in 30-06 as-is.
if they do make one in 30-06 it should kick like a mule. I had one in .22-250, even with good optics (and several of them) it shot all over the place also sometimes when you fired, the action would break open, I got rid of it.
H&R Handi's can be tempermental at first but they seem to tighten up after being shot a bit. Some are more finicky than others but generally they can be coaxed into good shooters. You might try Graybeard Outdoors. There's tons on info on H&Rs there.
I have 2 - a .204 Ruger & a .243. Both shot pretty good out of the box but have improved significantly with hand loads, different bullet weights, powders and seating depth adjustments.
Make no mistake. They're budget class rifles to be sure but they work just fine with some tinkering, which is 1/2 the fun.
I own half a dozen of them and one in 30-06. Mine is a replacement barrel with matching serial numbers (etched into catch block) and it will randomly pop open when fired. Factory says send it back and they will fix it but the thing is super accurate and I am afraid the "fix" will be a new barrel that is a poor shooter. I will try to get it to stay together. Note that my 223, 308, 243, 270, and 45-70 do not pop apart when fired. I may try that barrel on my other receivers and see if that works.
