H&R officers Trapdoor carbine

took a CHL class the other day, and the instructor had a H&R Officers edition Trapdoor carbine in 45-70 he wanted to sell. I don't know anything about these rifles other than what I've read on the internet, and what I've read in the blue book of gun values. They are listed there from $750 to over $1,000. He is asking $650 for his, and it looks to be 95-98%. If I buy this rifle it will be a shooter(on occasion), nothing out of the ordinary. Anyone out there know any more about this rifle that would sway me either way??? Opinions or comments welcome. Thanks
