I bought the gun from Wally World about a year ago. It's got a pretty stiff action, really feel it when the bolt rides over the ejector just adding friction to the stroke. It has loosened up some, but nothing like a good old 870. Is this common to this gun or am I just getting weak in my senior years? I let my buddy try it, and he says its stiff too.

I have the 12ga Pardner Pump Protector for HD. It was a bit stiff the first 50 pumps or so. I cycled it on and off 20 pumps of so at a time and it smoothed out as good as my 1978 Wingmaster after maybe 100. Very smooth now. Not one problem except for being on the heavy side but it helps with recoil.. I've read the butt stock alone is a pound or so.

The one I had years ago was stiff and a bit "crunchy" for lack of a better term, when cycled. After several rounds of informal trap and sporting clays, it did smooth up some. Had to clean up the barrel as shells were getting stuck, but that's a different story.

I bought a 20ga a few years ago. It was rough, but it smoothed out. Mine didn’t have much lube in it so you may want to break it down for a detail clean, lube it up (especially the known friction points and shiny spots) and give it another try.
