Been doing some searching and can't seem to find an answer to this.

I have an H&R Ultra rifle in .223.

I know it basically has a shotgun trigger, and although it's very accurate while bench shooting....I want it for coyotes and would like the trigger to be a bit smooter and lighter.

Is there ANYTHING I can do with the trigger to accomplish this?

Thanks for any advice.

I got into one when they first came out for a friend of mine.

Won't do it again. Not an easy gun to work on. Find a gunsmith. Get a price upfront. Might be cheaper to buy another rifle.

Later model Handi-rifles I've handled had pretty good triggers.

I highly recommend these instructions. They made a huge difference in my Handi-rifle's trigger. It's very easy, basically you just disassemble and polish all the bearing surfaces.

From the factory it was crisp but very heavy. It's not a target trigger now by any means, but it's a lot lighter than it was.
