H322 is a good powder but you should consider H4895 or Varget (I use both for 30-30 Win model 94 using Sierra 150 and 170gr FN). These powders, unlike H322, are designed to fire more consistently at extreme temperatures. I hunt primarily in PA where a good deer hunting morning may be 10 degrees. I think Hodgdon calls them the "extreme" line of powders, or something like that.

H322 is also in their extreme line of powders.
I use it with a 125 gr. Sierra pro hunter (flat nosed hollow point) and it is wicked on impact with coyotes at 50'. I found it shooting best in my Marlin 336 with 31.5 grains of powder.

my plan is to load it in a marlin 336 30-30 using 170 hornady flat nose bullets. i have been using imr4895 with 150 grain bullets, but when reading the sierra loads table for this rifle i saw they recommended the h322. just wanting some real feedback, and am open to advise from more experienced reloaders.

Sorry if I stand corrected. I assumed that H322 was not in their extreme line based on the numbering system. I'll double check that.
