Would anyone happen to know where some H4350 might be? Im currently building a 243 with a 1:8" twist and want to use H4350 and 105gr amax's. Everything else is slowly coming together and Im in no hurry but I have a feeling that the powder is going to take the longest to acquire. If anyone local to me has some, I have lots of the things everyone wants right now to trade with.

Does anyone have any experience with this combination that they would care to share, load data and / or OAL perhaps?

A friend reloads for the .243 and he uses H4350 with success. If you can't get 4350 you can also use the slightly slower H4831 or better yet H4381SC. (the short cut version)

I can walk into scheels here and buy 2 lbs of it. Caveman in kc had it and so does a lgs here. Guess I'm just lucky

I took my neighbors kid to shoot trap yesterday and they usually have a decent selection but the shelves were pretty bare. I wish we had a Scheels here, I like that place more than Academy

Springhill Rod & Gun has about dozen 1 lb cans of H4350 on the shelf as of this afternoon, but they have a limit of 1 can per type of powder. I picked up a couple of 1 lb cans at Cabela's last Thursday in Charleston. They just received a large shipment of CCI SP and SR yesterday so things are starting to look a lot better around here. Springhill Rod & Gun also had a good selection of .223 ammo in stock today. Trouble with powder is you need to order at least 5 or 6 lbs before it becomes cost effective. I asked if they would ship you some powder but don't think you would want to pay $56 to $60 for a 1lb can of powder.

At the local guy here I saw had at least 2 -8lb jugs and quite a few 1lb's, also had a bunch of RE-15;)

Just backorder it with Brownell's. You should get it within a couple of weeks. I backordered 3 different powders (H-4350 being the main one) with them, all 3 (7 lbs total) came in within about 3 weeks.

If I backorder powder Im afraid that I will end up waiting longer than if I just wait for it to come in stock somewhere. Im in no immediate hurry to get it just trying to be proactive, still need dies and bullets.

I can sell you my 8# jug of H4350 for your LR-308 :)

edit: it isn't really 8# anymore as I loaded 50 rounds of 260 Rem with some of it last night.

we load and shoot together so this is a joke!!

griff383 just sent you a pm w/ some load and workup details w/ this combo, i use the same combination, running into the same problem as you with finding these products, ran across this post looking for amax's and thought i would join the site and chime in as i usually stay on LRHO
