The dream starts off in a walmart. It was taken by so sort of armed robbers and me and a group of 3 people decided we needed to secure arms. We made our way to sporting goods where i scoped out a couple of bolt actions, but couldnt see myself working a bolt in the heat of a confrentation. There was also this revolving rifle that was chambered in some of strange caliber rimfire. It looked accurate but didnt think it wasnt powerful enough. So i droped that and grabbed a AK clone close by but it only had a low cap 10 rd mag in it (damn AWB). I was in a dellima as to what would be appropriate for this type of enviroment. I didnt know which rifle to grab against armed robbers in a cituation like a department store robbery. What kind of rifle would you look for if your life depened on it?

I wouldn't get a rifle, I'd pick up a Rem 870, Mossberg 500/835, or Win 1300.

BUT, since you asked what rifle, I'd probably (assuming this is Walmart and am limited to guns that Walmart sells) pick a Ruger mini-30.

Yes but he lives behind enemy lines. There are no guns sold there. :neener:

Hope he moves to a free state. I second at that range a good shot gun would work very well. I might pickup a Marlin 336 if left to what our walmar normally has in stock.

How were you able to take a nap at Walmart, isn't it kinda loud in there? :p

Shotgun, takes too much time to load up clips. If it has to be a rifle then I'd take that AR, the Mini would only have the factory 5 rounder.

It doesn't matter which rifle you grabbed. You'd still have to talk the Sporting Goods drone out of the trigger lock key.

The trigger locks on the guns at my wal-mart can be removed with a paper clip. Not all that secure if you ask me. Probably a lever gun out of the case or a good ol' fashioned scatter gun are your best bets.

And it would take 20 minutes to find him and then he would want you to show him which rifle or shotgun you're interested in by pointing to it. :banghead:

In the sceneario, a shotgun would be my weapon of choice. In the aisleways, a missed shot at the perps would be stopped by the stuff on the shelves and that could hopefully keep the shoppers safe. Also, (for whatever reason) Wally World keeps all of their shotgun ammo on open shelves where you can just grab a box, no fiddling with the lock on the case where they keep rifle and pistol ammo.

Ah, yes, a shotgun is the right choice. Grab the Federal or Winchester 100-round "economy pack" from the shelf and lock & load.

There will be no slugs or buck in the store, so you'll have to make your shots at close range. But since you can't seem them beyond the first few aisles, it'll all be close-range work anyway.

Some sort of pump action 12 gauge. Any sort of shooting scenarios in a wal-mart will be close range, and the BG's will be moving fast, and have lots of cover.

And if it was just armed robbers (and not suicidal maniacs popping innocents for fun), I'd grab the gun and ammo, call 911, and sit tight in a nice hidey hide place where I could see or hear what was going on. No sense in getting shot trying to protect Wal-Mart's profits for the day. Let them have the $$, and let the police SWAT sniper deal with them outside.

In a Walmart with armed robbers? I'd walk to one of those emergency exit doors on the side and leave. If you've got enough time to get a gun out of one of those cases, remove the trigger lock, and load it, I've got enough time to get out the door.

"The dream starts off in a Walmart."

At this point, I'd wake up. I couldn't sleep through something that awful.

As much money as I have given them a-holes over the years I should qualify for a whole rack of free guns.

That's beside the point though, I would grab a 12ga 3 1/2" Magnum with a bunch of shells and slugs!

I'd probably grab my FN Forty-Nine, but since we are dealing with Wally World selection... Mini-14 or 12ga somethingorother.

ooh, maybe a paintball gun followed by a trip to the aisle containing marbles. ;)

BTW, Valkman, which Wal-Mart doesn't sell guns?
