I'm a buyer

...

After reading her post, I'm a believer in what happened to her, simply by the truth in regards to all events listed, and her reactions accordingly.

Welcome to the world of educated/enlightenment of, self-worth and, self-protection.

I've decided to get a shotgun as a backup to eliminate most fears of overpenetration, a 12ga pump should do fine

amen, brother..

I did something similar, once (cos once is quite enough, amirite?!?) and now one of the two - mossberg or keltec, cos I do like to shoot them both - is loaded and ready to rock even if the other one is out of comission.

re:gooseberi
y'know, I'm all for readiness, and I'm glad it's worked out well, but whenever some guy posts a story about converting a young lady I always fear there's one less out there ready for the conversion - I only hope I don't miss my chance  :D

Don't think that just because it was 10am on a Sunday that you shouldn't check out gut feelings. A good friend of mine was the victim of a home invasion at 10am on a Sunday morning.

I read somewhere around here that the most common home invasion time is 5:00ish through 7:00ish while people are eating supper.

I was the victim of a home invasion a yr ago last Christmas, it was 7:30 am christmas eve morning, and I certainly wasn't expecting it.

A few months ago there was a string of home invasions in Tucson. Most took place at about 5:00am.

Kungfuhippie I am so sorry about the confusion and the seemingly unrelated reply I posted:)Thanks for back peddling to find the answer to your own question:)
And a real thanks to ArfinGreebly for giving a heads up and suggesting I am for real:)*grin*
Nelson133 has been a good friend..who but a friend would let you shoot hundreds of rounds of his ammo:)LOL

Gooseberi

Good to see you're still with us!

Maybe you can get Nelson133 to help you get a range report up for us.

It would be great to see some of your targets as you progress with your practice.

I know it may sound odd, but when beginners report on their progress, it helps a whole bunch of others who are still wondering what to expect.

So don't be a stranger; we really are interested.

:D

Scary

Had a similar thing happen a few years back. To keep it short, I flung the garage door open...pistol at the ready...and wakened the sleeping bandit, who blinked...looked around in a light daze...and scurried past me to freedom.
'Twas a baby raccoon. Cute little critters.

Gooseberi does just fine. Last Saturday we went to the club range and she shot about 250 9mm and !00 45 plus a bunch of 22. She shoots the Ruger Mark II very well, but says it feels like shooting a toy now. She can stay on the paper with the Kahr 9mm at 35 feet. shoots the Ruger 95DC better, and really likes the 15 round magazines. But what she really likes is the Sig P220. shoots it well and it fits her well, but she's not going to get to keep that one, it's mine. There's something about a powerful pistol that fits you well.
She loads her own magazines, tho she can't quite get the last round or 2 in the 9mm Ruger. She broke a nail loading a magazine Saturday, patched it and kept on going. She now wants me to teach her to reload.

I have to laugh ...Thanks Nelson133....Only a man would tell the vanity of a woman and a broken nail...dang him!! This past Saturday was the first time I shot at 35 feet..I like 20 feet better...but am going to keep the 35 till I can do as well there as the shorter range. My goal is to stop Nelson133 from chuckling!!

Boy I feel better

I have recently realized that my days of thinking I could handle a teen aged junkie with my bare hands are over. I have always had a shotgun around but the handgun just FEELS different. The comfort that comes from it is awfully nice. I thought the breaking in period was just me though!

CCW class soon and then I'll be ready to be the grumpy old man on the block.

welcome aboard llanarr!!!
Yeah having the pistol on me at home (been doing it 100% for a few days now) has been different, but I do feel safer than I did with the stuff ready-but not at hand.
