I've got a new TRP, and I'm having a heck of a time getting the slide stop back in after taking it apart for cleaning. My Kimber was a cinch to get back together, but the Springfield is a pain in the neck. I've had to resort to pushing the little spring loaded pin out of the way with a small alan key, since it doesn't budge when I just push against it with the beveled slides stop.

I'm also worried that I'll slip and send the stop across the slide and get an idiot mark on my new TRP, definitely would be very bad

So what gives? Do I need to lube the heck out of that pin? I tried pushing in and up, in and down, in, left, right, etc etc. Argh!

You can use a credit card to help depress the slide stop plunger while installing the slide stop. Once you get the slide stop started in its hole, withdraw the credit card while pushing the slide stop home.
