I'm looking for the reason why the trigger on my Ruger SR22 in only coming back half way. The hammer goes back about halfway also when I'm trying to fire it. The magazine is in properly, the slide is pulled back and the bullet sent into the chamber properly. Double and single action, results in the trigger coming back half way and stopping. The pistol is cleaned and lubed.

Oops, I think you wanted this in Handguns: Autoloaders. :)

With the magazine dropped, does the trigger travel the same?

Something's wrong. With no magazine, the trigger will just pull to the rear without connecting to the hammer. Can it be cocked and fired single action the first shot?
That is why I asked about the trigger travel with the magazine out. If the trigger doesn't travel rearward all the way without magazine, he may have debris around the trigger. If it does, there is an issue somewhere between the trigger bar to the hammer.

Cornerman64, if you have canned air or a can of Gun Scrubber. I'd try blowing or hosing down the gun with it disassembled while working what actions you can.

BTW, welcome to THR! :)

The SR22 pistol has a mag disconnect...
When the mag is out, it will make the trigger feel like its not connected to anything.
Frankly, I'd give Ruger a call, and let them fix it.

Hey, thanks for replying. With the magazine in, single or double action, the trigger pulls only half way and the hammer opens only about halfway and the hammer will not cock. With the slide off it will not pull double action. The hammer may be thumbed down and cocked them single fired but only with the slide removed.
