In Commando ( an Arnold shoot 'em up) people are using hand held, belt fed weapons. Do such things exist, if so, do they work?
Thanks in advance.

Sort of... there's one last batch that's supposed to be released soon, it'll be an upgraded version with adjustable sights and some other improvements, but the builder is pretty much planning to retire soon.
One could, theoretically, fire a .50 caliber M2 as a hand-held weapon. You just have to be a big sumb*tch. The Shrike upper is designed to go on a standard AR lower (SA or FA) and is probably more manageable. I have a couple of the Lakeside uppers as pictured above. Fun and cheap(er) to shoot. Another fellow is making a belt-feed mechanism running 12-gauge shotgun shells. Should be interesting. In Commando ( an Arnold shoot 'em up) people are using hand held, belt fed weapons.
