Going old Skool! A better pic of your wooden gun box please.

Here you go: Shop built copy of the Pychmar 5 gun box from the 70’s. The gun holding mechanism, corners and latch is from the original box I bought in the 70’s.
Laminated 3/4 pine from Lowe’s planed to 1/2 thickness.

Technically it’s not loaded until the percussion caps are placed. These weren’t.
I shot a old timers Cap & Ball at my game&rod club. Super accurate and a whole lot of fun! I’m looking to get into this style of shooting

Jump over to the black powder forum. Loads of experienced shooters can answer any question you have. Caution it can become addictive and the lower cost in general for guns and equipment can lead one down a path for which there is no return. Betcha can’t have just one..........;)

Whughett...love to see those old boxes still in use. I had a new one made that’s a knock off of yours.

The originals were plywood with a heavy black “Naugahyde” covering. Over time that cover would become worn and tattered. That’s what happened to mine so in 2000 I copied it. One of the advantages Iv felt is the ability to carry a small spotting scope in a back compartment and mount it to the up right lid. On this box one can see the aluminum plate that I can clamp it to.
These were designed when bullseye shooting was more popular.
