Handgun Rest

I'm thinking of getting a pistol rest for accurately checking my loads. A Ransom would be nice but try and justify that expense to the wife! What are more reasonable alternatives? I've be considering the Outer's Pistol Perch which can be had for about $80. Have any of you any first hand opinions on this rest or suggestions for something else. Obviously, I want something that's going to secure the gun enough so that I can get an accurate measurement of my groups. Thanks for any suggestions.

I use the Hoppes rest for shooting my rifle and scoped handgun. Works perfectly fine for me.
