It's been years since I've bought a new scope, couple decades probably.
And never a new one for a handgun.
I know there are a lot of readers on this forum who try different scopes faster than I even think about another caliber to get.
So, how are the Weavers now? They have what looks like a nice 1.5-4X for not too bad a price.

At first thought a 4X seems way much on a handgun.
But, then in 50+ years of shooting one, with only a few exceptions have always been with open sights and a 50 yard shot was pretty far.
A 4X on my 30 Herrett 10" Contender might not be so wild after all.

I vaguely remember shooting some XP100s when they first came out, as I recall they has some pretty serious scopes mounted.

4x isn't bad at all. I can get a clear sight picture at 25yds. If its any closer than that, I'd just throw my gun at it...lol

Four power is not as out of line as you might think. A smaller variable would be perfect.
