at the gun shop when I was picking up my new Glock. It felt wonderful in my hand, probably more so that most other guns I have handled, but man what is up with that trigger?

I have heard a lot of good things from you guys here but I just can't imagine getting used to that trigger. If I was more sure I could get used to it I would have gotten it instead of the Glock because it felt so nice.

Anyone here have one that hated the trigger at first but then got used to it and maybe even like it now?

What was it exactly that you did not like about it?

If it was gritty it will smooth out, but if it was the pull length just do what I do and keep it cocked.

Of all of my center-fire autos, which is almost forty, my P99s have the best triggers by far. The P99's SA trigger is light and crisp (but takes 500 rounds through it to get that way), and the trigger reset is incredibly short and crisp, with no slack. I only wish my other pistols had a trigger like my P99s.

I don't have either of them, but the P99 and the XD both interest me. Not sure which I'd get... I'd probably try to get one of each and sell the other.

The P99 does seem to have a longer than average DA pull but the one's I've shot and handled had very respectable SA triggers.

This may be a moot point derived only from experience with one P99
but when my 9mm was new I was not pleased with the trigger at all.
{it's an early gun in the 5,000's to boot!}.
But, the proof's in the pudding: once broken-in and fire-control sys. properly lubed it's proven to be extremely fast in IDPA and deadly accurate at speed. Don't consider it's DA triger to be Glock like at all. It was easier to become prficient with than any of my Glocks, FWIW.
