Played with the .40 version today. I have carried my Shield 9mm almost exclusively for the last couple of years. The only two things I don’t care for on it is the slick grip and the trigger.

The grip on the 2.0 is nicely stippled, and the trigger is excellent with a much more pronounced reset (one positive click instead of the two on the original Shield).

I’m not planning on buying the new version, but it does seem worth it over original for those looking at getting one.

I checked one out at a local dealer yesterday when I dropped off a O/U to get some work done. It did feel good, like most all M&P's. I guess the only complaint I've ever had was the somewhat slick grip on hot days after several mags.

With the release of the 2.0s Smith is getting close to breaking the icy grip CZ has had lately. I almost picked up a 5" when they frist come out, now I'm really considering the newest sized 2.0...but then again I'd love to see a 5" 45 released.

A co worker's former service weapon was a M&P 2.0 5" in .45. A few minutes in my hand and I could not see what the hype was about with the M&Ps. He liked my Walther anyway and switched to a PPQ. Different tastes for everyone.

It still feels too thin to me, but I do like the 2.0 Compact a lot. Not trading in my P99 anytime soon though.

It's on my short list for the future there's something about the lines on it. Just look really appealing.

I don't see point of throwing away $150 for infinitesimal gains in given product. I would move up to something nicer like Walther PPS M2.

That is subjective. I know 2 guys with the PPS m2s, well 1 now because he now owns a Shield and the other wishes he had a Shield. If you need customer service from Walther cross your fingers.
