Wow..... I wonder if it will turn up ? It's an interesting story and shows why some folks treasure old family firearms for the memories they hold and wouldn't sell them for many times their value. I have a few that were handed down and they are not for sale; at least not at their market value. Although for the right amount of money I could possibly change my mind. If you hear of Hank Jr. getting it back, could you keep us posted ? It obviously means a lot to him and he's willing to pay well above market value so perhaps it might just appear if enough people hear about it. If he got it back and it wasn't in real good shape I'd almost bet it would receive a professional restoration. Then the value would increase not just because of the restoration but because it would have provenance as to belonging to Hank Willaims Jr. who swears it was his grandpa's shotgun. A gun owned by a celebrity with an interesting story would be worth a lot more than an 11/48 owned by me.
