Oh!..Oh...Oh, my!

Now I need a cigerette! ;)

I have wanted a Model 40 since I shot my buddy's old blue one. But that nickel is purdy! And those photos are fantastic!

When was it made? Are those the original stocks? Where can I get one?

You take good pitchers, mate. And your model is very photogenic.

I'm learning not to mind the lock. I've got one of the .44 Specials in nickel, and the lock no longer bothers me much. I mean, I wish it wasn't there, but I can live with it. Modern realities, I guess. And the fact that I'm in California, which makes it nearly impossible to bop down to the local gunshop and pick up a nice used pre-lock big bore.

Anyway, I'm rambling. Nice gun. I already decided I don't really need one, but this is making me think about it again.

A no-lock made in 2008?

Yup, that's right. This gun is a current production model.

Is that the only smith revolver made without the lock?

Yessir, sho iz.

Is that because of the grip safety?

I do believe you are correct sir! ;)

Indeed. Nice photos.

Damn dude when did you instal the listening devices in my house? Haha!

What you didn't hear was her saying back to me, "Wha? You've GOT to be kidding me right?"

Very nice gun. Not as nice as my Colt Cobra Nickel, but very nice. ;) Seriously, I love Smith Centennials, but I like the Cobra/Detective Special for the six round capacity. I just wish Smith would do it on the Centennials too.

Both the blued and nickle are just unbelievably nice. I don't know what part of the factory they're coming out of, maybe the Time Machine Division? The ones I've handled could easily be from the 1950s.

Very nice; the entire ensemble of nickel, ivory, and the Tyler T-Grip adapter gives it a truly vintage look. Thanks for sharing your pix with us.

Heya rgs1975,

Due to your strong previous endorsement and helpful answers to my questions regarding this product I am currently saving up for one also, but won't order it until Mid-July or so. Nice to see bee-utiful pics of yours though, adds even more fuel to my fire. The matching mini-mag was a nice touch also. :)

When I emailed my dealer about its availability He was impressed with them too, and he deals with alot of nice much more expensive guns.

Am I nuts for wanting the Blue one? Your chromes look fantastic, but that bluing looks deep and lustrous (I usually go for the expensive ones too, but that color case just is not doing it for me.).

For all the other owners for accessories for this model would I be able to use holsters made for another centennial? i.e. 642? The 40-1 is not bringing up alot of returns. Also where do I get my hands on one of those grip inserts (Not the Ajax panels but that part in front of the grips, I have heard them referred to as tyler-T's? Not sure if those are them though, if you know what I mean.)? Both of you slapped them right on, but I have never handled a gun with them on there, recommended?

Thanks!
