I shot, with a friend who hasn't had a place to shoot for awhile, on Sunday right down in my draw. The fink shot some 40 S&W which I don't own one, and he didn't want to save his brass. Now I've got thirty or forty pieces of 40 cal brass and I was already forced to order some dies for it and I'll have to start shopping for something to fire it out of ;).

No shooting because it was raining most of the day. I did manage to catch up on some work at the reloading bench. I ran out of bullets so I cast, coated, sized and checked a few hundred 460gr 50 cal bullets and loaded up 50 of em with some aa1680. Sure are some sharp looking rounds.
I'm man enough to admit that I don't think I'd enjoy shooting that hand cannon!

I load those bullets to the top crimp groove with 10gr of unique for a very pleasant load. magnum loads are definitely a hoot to shoot. A pair of shooting gloves lets me tolerate shooting 50 magnums. It's a strange recoil. it doesn't flip up, it comes straight back into your palm hard.

Shot several hundred rounds of big bore rifle and handgun (44 mag, 444, 45-70) and various other calibres, with family and introduced one new family member (recently married in) to the shooting sports. He had an absolute blast (pun intended). He actually center punched a head shot on the silhouette target standing free hand at 100 yards with my 45/70. My 11 year old nephew shot his first big bore pistol, my 7.5 inch stainless Redhawk 44mag. Started with 240 XTP's over 10.5gr of Herco. Then moved up to the same bullet over 22.5 of H-110. His eyes really lit up with that round. Handled it like a champ. image.jpg
