To our Canadian members, a hearty happy Canada Day! Enjoy your celebrations. I was born in the States, grew up in Canada, and now live in Texas, so I see things from a unique perspective. I had written off Canada because of anti-gun sentiments, but got my brother interested in firearms and have found Canada to not be quite as bad as I thought it was. True, they have some issues to deal with, far more hurdles than we have, but there are some things that are going right up there.

So, have a great one, eh.

yep its too bad you almost have no gun rights but happy canada day.

take off ayyy

Oh shoot this was my 3000 post. Wow i need to get off the computer once in a while.

I guess this was part of my point, they have far more than you think. Yes, they have registration requirements and caliber, capacity and size limitations that we don't have, but other things about Canada's gun situation are better than here. For example, my brother just bought a rifle from Ontario, and he lives in Alberta. Guess where the rifle was shipped? Right to his door. No FFL, no dealer involved, nada. Of course, the serial number is registered to him so I'd prefer our system, but my point is that it's not as dismal as I once thought.

Another example. I'm trying to ship a couple shotguns to my other brother in Canada. He applied for the import license ONLINE and got it back in a week or so. I shipped the guns to an export broker in Montana, and it has been months trying to get approval from the UNITED STATES side to export them. Our process is much more difficult, and don't get me started about an individual trying to get weapons IMPORTED into the US. It would take much more than an online form and a week.

There is good and bad on both sides. Yes, our situation is better, but is far from perfect, and theirs is far from abysmal.

There's also no tax for short stuff... If you're clear to buy it, you can just buy a SBS or SBR.

No "Sporting" clause, hello Tavor !

Also, if you do the foot work, you too (non Canadians) can get the same licenses that Canadians can get...

Not true here in the USA, I've been dealing with that headache here in WA.

Happy Canada Day!!!

I appreciate the brave Canadians in Afganistan.

Besides, the Canadians can get some cool stuff citizens of the USA cannot...

Thanks TX! July 4th is right around the corner so right back at ya!

Things are not all doom-and-gloom up here but we have to keep fighting. As for importing/exporting across the border, try Questar, that's what they do.

Happy CD......but, you'd really be ahead to take leave of the Confederation and join us. Too bad the Fenians failed, you'd have been a great addition.

Good day eh. I will be coming up to the Great White North next week for some fishing in Saskatchewan. Too bad I can't take my pistol. One of the guys we are going with is a police officer in Saskatoon and I told him to pack his heater. Good day hosers and happy Canada Day. Looking forward to Boxing Day as well.

I am not sure that it means anything, but... Canada, Iran, and most of Europe want barack hussein obama to win. Why do the socialists and our enemies get so enamored with that guy?
