I always loved Thanksgiving, since I grew up about 2-1/2 miles from Jamestown where, Pilgrim legends aside, the first Thanksgiving took place. We used to kid some of the Pamunkey Indians where we goose hunted, and ask if they were going to bring us any food in remembrance, and most of them would jokingly opine as how they might have been better off if their ancestors had slipped a little arsenic in the food.
