Harbor Freight Barrel Tumbler

I've run two loads of brass through my HF tumbler the last two days. I can get about 100 cases or so in each barrel, and then add a pinch of laundry detergant and a few cut up pieces of a scotch brite pad. I let them tumble for about an hour, then drain and rinse. Place the suckers in an old sock and let them sit out on the front porch in the sun. The cotton wicks moisture giving a larger surface area for the water to evaporate off of, and speeds the drying time. The cases look great, and they dry out in an hour or so.

Far as the noise level, it's not that loud. The cases tumbling makes more noise. Make sure to adjust the two small plastic stops to keep the barrels centered in the frame or the belt can start to squeak.

I use a vibrator tumbler...start with empty bowl, add small amount of liquid polish, add brass, turn tumbler on and let cleaning agent spread over brass and add media:)

i agree that vibatory cleaners are LOUD. but i have used the rock polisher type method also, it IS PAINFULLY SLOW! it's been said before, but take the case cleaner out to the garage, and set the timer on your stove or microvave so you don't forget them out there. like snuffy said, N E V E R put a cardboard box over an electric motor! you are BEGGING for a fire if you do!

i have a vibratory unit. its out in the garage so it does not bother me one bit.

i sometimes run it while reloading and it is not real offensively loud.

it sits maybe 5 feet from my reloading bench and I can still hear the sounds the press makes.

I just load my Vibratory tumbler with more media until it is quiet. Can't hear it through a sliding glass door next to the TV. :)

Ahhh, to be one of the lucky with a home of my own, with things like a garage, a concrete floor, a shed, a yard...

Someday.
