Hard Gun Choices

Seeing as how I don't really like shotguns there won't be one in my list.

I'd probably take:
1. My Ak -47
2. My Ar-15- Colt H-Bar
3. My Sig Sauer 226
4. My M1 Garand

Only 4 allowed I would have to figure there are problems

Instead of going with favorite guns or calibers I would go for simple and reliable.
1. Double barreled 12 gauge
2. Double break action rifle in 308
3. Single shot bolt action 22 rifle
4. Single action revolver in 357 magnum

i would have to say that i would go with a handgun in a common caliber, like 9mm, or 45, i would say a glock 19.

i would want my trusty old remington 870.

i would want my ar

and for food gathering i would take a bolt gun in .308

- Ruger Single Six 22lr with extra 22wmr cyl
- S&W 327 (8 shot .357 mag)
- TC Encore with 2-3 different cal barrels
- Mossberg 590

well that's easy...

All that I have is 4.

USP 45
Colt Python
Win '94
AR15

that's all folks

A good30-06 like my Win Mod 70 ftw. 4x Leupold scope in Weaver piviot mounts( I have had it set up like that since 1963 and it always returns to zero when scope pivots back into position to use) Probably a good pump shotgun Rem 870 although I have never shot one, a good 22 like my Marlin 39, Handgun, probably a revolver similar to my K-38, but chambered in 357. If I were much further north possibly a 44 mag.

Of the guns I own;

Taurus mod. 617, .357/.38, seven shooter, 2", defense.

Marlin 336 .30-30, game and defense.

Mossberg 500, game and defense.

Ruger 10/22, small game.

I own several others that would fit the bill, but these are the ones I'd grab to use in most survival situations. In a combat or SHTF scenario, my defense gun would probably be one of my .45 acp's, and for game and defense long gun, a Mini-14. No matter what I chose, I'd pack up a lot of ammo for each.

Assuming our little "survival scenario" takes place within the US--

1. Smith and Wesson .38 2-inch
2. Smith and Wesson .44 4-inch
3. AK-47
4. Saiga 12-k

Alternately

1. S&W .38 2-inch
2. AK-47
3. M-4 or AR-15
4. Saiga 12-k

S&W 2-inch from a "survival standpoint" because it has a simple operation, easy maintenance and is concealable.

AK-47 from a "survival standpoint" as it is robust and easy to maintain. If we're talkin a Mad Max/Somalia type "survival scenario", having a primary weapon which is unlikely to ever need skilled repair or maintenance would be key.

M-4/AR-15 from a "survival standpoint" as it is versatile and ammo plentiful in this country.

My zombie survival scenario arsenal would consist of the second set of options, except I'd replace the S&W wheelgun with a Sig chambered for .40 S&W :)
