Has anyone had this problem with their Airlite?

Well, after posting a while back to ask for opinions on a 640, I still haven't decided on a snubbie yet (there's no rush, since I'm still waiting for my CCW permit to come in the mail). So, I went in to a local shop today to look at a used 340PD. At first glance, it appeared to be like new. However, when the trigger was pulled, the left rear edge of the trigger was scraping against the rear face of the trigger guard. This scraping had worn the finish off pretty good.

The salesman took a couple other Airlites out of the case and pulled the trigger on them, but the triggers all stopped about 1/16" ahead of the trigger guard. I decided to pass on the used 340PD, so I stopped by another store on the way home and, sure enough, there was a new 342PD there that had scratches (though faint) from both rear edges of the trigger making contact with the trigger guard.

Has anyone had this problem with their Airlite? Could this affect the gun's function? Even if it is just a cosmetic problem, it still bothers me given how much these guns cost.

I've had my S&W 340PD for about 3 or 4 months. The back of the trigger does not contact the trigger guard; there are no scratches.

I had problems with my 337.
the cylinder would bind occasionally. I sent it back and it still would bind. Sent it back again and I think S&W changed the crane. Works fine now and shoots 3"-4" groups @ 25 yds rested. No trigger problems you describe.
