I got an old Ar-7 made by charter arms/armalite. i need a replacment magazine also i was looking for a pistol kit if there legal in ca. this Ar-7 survived my grandfathers a shipreck and still works its in good condition very little rust nothing but the magazines are missing. i have herd there are jamming problems too any quick fixes

go to numrich gun parts, or Henry's site, and ask if theirs will work in yours. Also dremel the feedramp lowerbbl area a little. make sure your mag is clean and works slick as snot on a doorknob. they are notorious jammers.

CDNN sells 15 round aftermarket AR-7 mags, but your in Cali so those won't do you much good. Those are also on Gunbroker frequently. Henry makes the US Survival, which IIRC is the same gun. They supply them from the factory with 8 rounders- maybe some Henry OEM mags will work for you.

Unless you reciever started life as a handgun, which it didn't, you can't turn it into one unless you first register it as a Short Barreled Rifle. There are some Mitchell telescoping stocks around for the AR-7, but that will run about $150. Remember that an AR-7 that is a pistol would not be legal in Cali since the mag is forward the trigger guard.

I don't know where you are (you chose not to post that) but I went to a gun show in Reno NV last weekend and was looking for an AR7 magazine. Every magazine dealer at the show had one or more. Some had the regular factory magazine that fits in the stock, some had magazines of greater capacity that won't fit in the stock.
Long story short, they arn't hard to find.

thanks for the help i found some mags i saw a pistol and just thaught it looked kool but i dont wantto put that much effert into making it one

A herd of AR-7s? sounds like you're going to go broke buying for a whole herd.
