Charter Arms AR-7

The Marlin Papoose takedown rifle is a so much better design I can’t imagine ever buying another AR-7.

It’s stainless, is made by an actual rifle manufacturer, and it works. Let’s see if Ruger continues it.
They are a great take down for sure,
and I'd have probably bought one myself
if I'd ever found one around here priced
reasonably. They don't store in the space
of the stock as an AR7 will, and I don't
know whether or not they float, which is
the point of the AR7
As previously ^ ^ ^ posted they're not sold
as a target or tactical rifle, even though
hollyweird has used them often as some
kind of secret weapon or sniper rifle

Hy Hunter or Herter's offered AR-7s in stocks mimicking the M1 Carbine, C96 Mauser pistol, and Thompson. The TV series GET SMART prop dept modified a AR-7 tommygun look alike as a spy gun.

Landmann of Preetz Germany made a slab sided AR-7 clone (Mod 65) in hunting rifle and military replica stocks, also used as movie props often misid'd as AR7s.

I am surprised that alternate dress-up stocks for the AR-7 have not been a commercial item. But my AR-7 all neatly packed in its own stock is a convenient carry along as it is.
