Has the AARP changed their gun policy recently?

AARP believes in the Constitutional right to bear arms. But to make the nation safer, we must do what we can to keep guns out of hands of children and criminals. AARP supported the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, which went into law in 1994 with bi-partisan support, but was allowed to expire this year.

AARP supports measures to eliminate firearm possession by juveniles, convicted domestic abusers and those under domestic violence restraining orders.

I'm also wondering about the accuracy of the statement about the Brady Law being allowed to expire. That was the AWB that expired not the Brady background check wasn't it?

Thats funny, that almost sounds exactly the same as every other gun control mission statement.

I sent their application to join back with a note that their support of gun control eliminated any farther consideration of joining. Maybe others have done the same and it's beginning to sink in, but I seriously doubt that.
