I checked the scope on this air rifle at 18 yds from a rest, getting ready for a sage rat shoot.

The cans were filled with water, I'm using 14 gr RWS Meisterkugeln pellets moving at 750 fps at 7'.
Looks like I'm good to go, I have the trajectory plotted on a ballistic app in the phone:)

How do you figure out the BC values for the pellets?

Very helpful! Thanks!

I’ve been thinking I need a .22 or .25 cal Hatsan myself. Seems there’s really no advantage to the .25 cal as there’s plenty of good pellets with nice BC values.

Are you estimating your pellet’s velocities?

No, the velocity was from a 5 shot average with a chronograph.

I'm happy with my 87 if I were to get a .25 caliber the Hatsan 135 would be a consideration, I would also be looking at Gamo in the under $300 range.

I was always more enamored with the .22 and really don’t need a .25 as really this would be for fun out back and putting rabbits and squirrels in a sack. But I’d like it to be able to handle raccoons and possums and such if need be. You can typically get pretty close to most things you might want/need to dispatch and the .22 is plenty for the squirrels. I’m a bit curious if a .22 rated for 22 ft/lbs might find a good pellet or two for up close raccoons. They can be pretty tough.
