I thought that they made a similar model (or at least advertised one) that was for .454 Casuall/.45 colt. With the .45, you would definetely be able to get in some 'low' recoil target practice.

i shoot those 1 handed to show off for the girls at the range:neener:

no really i was at the range a couple weeks ago and a man and his wife where getting hand gun training from a guy. they where shooting several differnt pistols at the 15 yard range. mostly a few .38 specials a couple diffrent 9 mm's .357 etc. then the guy pulls out his ruger alaskan in .454 casull. pops off one round im drooling at the site of this awesome firearm now lol he loads 2 rounds one light load and one hot round (he reloaded him self) hands the gun to the gentleman getting the training and he goes now the first load is the light load and he shoots it misses the target completly and almost hits him self in the face with the gun! i was like jeezus lol the trainner shot it like it was nothing and was bragging about a deer he shot with it the year before. i dont think the guy was anticpating so much recoil from it lol

anyways i could only imagine a snubnose in 480 ruger!:what: i bet that thing kicks like a mule!

I have one. 454 Casull. Awesome Revolver!!!!!!!!!!!

I have shot some light 45LC Lead loads in it and it is a tack driver, and I mean that. The accuracy out of this pistol is amazing for the length of Barrel it has.

I have loaded some 300gr Gold Dots, with 30grs of W296. They are pretty close to a max load and are pretty stiff recoil wise.

45LC Loads are just a joy to shoot. The Casull loads are a real BLAST too, just gotta go kinda slow with them. 20 or 25 rounds is enough for a session.

You won't regret buying this, it's a real KICK.

Here is a pic with my Milt Sparks PMK.

Too much short gun for this old guy. Some people at the Ruger Forum have them and seem to really like them. Understand they're a bit hard to find. Hey, you're buying the gun for you not anybody else. I say go for it.

That is enough encouragement for me...

Well, that is all the encouragement I needed. I will be off to get one tommorow. I hope I can find one. I am an adult man and make my own money. I can buy what I want. As long as noone tells on me and I am able to sneak it into my gunsafe without being caught.;)
