Have you ever forgot your guns at the range

A case of two 1911's and three magazines? Forgotten? :uhoh:

This fellow must have had two other cases full of weaponry to have left that batch behind...

I would wonder on the legality of you possessing two firearms that arent registered in your name. I know its a long odd shot, but what if something happened to them and you are the last person to be holding them. Even in a case like this, I am curious to what the ATF or LEO would say or do. You hear so many weird stories about things all the time, this would probably be one of them.

Trying to help out and being a good guy and next thing you know you get busted for having unregistered in your name hand guns. Atleast in MI we have to register out handguns , not sure about some of the other states.

I've never left my guns but I did leave my friend once! We packed everything up and he went to the bathroom. In preoccupied, inventory-completed mode, I just drove off. Within a 1/2 mile, he was on the phone asking if I forgot anything. I even looked in the back to make sure all of the bags and cases were in the van. Then he yelled "How about me, you d*ckhead???!!!" "Oh, yeah.... I'll be right there."

P.S. To whomever gave the world the cellular phone: I thank you. You've saved me a ton of time and many tanks of gas over the years.

P.P.S. donttellthewife: I think you did the right thing, babysitting the weapons and leaving your phone number. I've given someone's forgotten, lost wallet to the a store employee only to find out later that the cash inside had "disappeared" before the owner got it back. Never again.

Never, always triple check your bag/bags and the surrounding area including the ground. Pack everything up, and go check again...

Nope, never left a gun at the range, however I am familiar with leaving guns at home. Rushed one morning to gather gear and leave for a pistol match as I wanted to arrive early enough to help set up stages. (ahem, subtle hint for those who show up, shoot and leave). About halfway to the match site, I got that nagging "what did I forget" feeling. Yep, no pistola in the range bag. Back to the house, haul a$$ back to the range, just in time to (ahem, show up and shoot). At least I helped with teardown.

LOL!

Not yet. A shooter left a rifle at our range last year. I knew that he was going by a gun store on his way home. I called the store to have them tell him
but he only got a few miles until he missed it. He said that wasn't the first time that it happened. Another time at a gun show a man left a case with hand guns in it outside of the building some one turned them in to the police and they returned them to him. Don't remember how many it was he left but it was a lot.

Dgindlesperger,

It was at Johnson Creek Gun Club

Caimlas,

I only posted the picture after they were returned ( He had to describe them first )

customizedcreationz,

That crossed my mind, along with some other nightmare senarios, but the only other options were to leave it or turn it over to the authorities. I suppose if I were questoned about haveing them in my position I could have just said they were mine, purchased from a private party or just explain the facts. In any case I was comfortable with my actions.

woad_yurt,

I've returned 2 wallets and 2 purses, and now 2 guns, what goes around comes around.

No but I have stopped the truck a minute out from the range on occassion when I didn't have specific recall about loading one or two. OCD I guess.

Classic :)

I found a nice sig at the range one day, left it with the owner. The owner of the pistol called about 5 mintues before he closed up shop, and picked it up the next day.

Since then I double check everything when I pack up. I check again in the parking lot. And again when I unpack.

Never left anything of value at the range (I have forgot eyes and ears, but if someone forgot theirs and put mine to use I dont mind). And while I havent forgot any guns at the range, I did forget to empty my rangebag once. My Kimber sat in it for a few weeks before I remembered it. Had to have it blasted...

I left a box of ammo on my roof once. I did not realise it until I heard it crashing into the street.

No, but I have hunted all day after forgetting to load my gun. I thought it felt light all day. :D

And I've done the leave home to go hunting and left my ammo at home. Got about halfway to where I was going and had to turn around and go back.
