8E989272-6F69-4C3D-B65A-3CB4629FC3BA.jpeg I love long barrel revolvers. About 6-8 months ago I ran across an 8 3/8” barrel taken off a Model 14 at a great price. Started looking for the proper donor gun to build another target revolver. Finally found the perfect donor. Model 14 in very solid condition. Has some blue wear but tight as a tick. Someone had done a Bubba front sight change and drilled and tapped the barrel rib. Took the package to Master Gunsmith Jim Kelly in Darlington SC for the change out. After inspecting the gun, he called and said he really didn’t like the forcing cone and wanted my permission to remachine it. Told me as is would make a good shooter but thought with some extra work, he could rework it and it would be much better. Of course I said yes. Picked it up last week and took out for a short test. The target shows the results. 10 shot group from 15 yards with 148gr HBWC loaded with 3gr Bullseye off a rest. Jim has been one of the most respected Gunsmiths in the country for years and most handgun work is done by one of his other employees but he decided to do this one personally. To say I’m pleased would be the understatement of a lifetime. He has done several incredible jobs for me over the last 30-40 years but this may be the best yet.

Looks like that long barrel and the cast-off Model 14 were meant for each other!

Good deal all the way around and nice work by Master Gunsmith Jim Kelly!

The 8 3/8ths inch Model 14 is one of my favorites.

Extremely accurate and easy to handle mine (like yours) shoots like a rifle with the right ammo.

I have had this one for about 3 years and don’t spend as much time with it as I should.

If your model 14 gets lonely from non use, you can always send it to me. It would have good company and I'll do my best to wear it out before sending it back. LOL
