A few weeks ago we visited our daughter's family in Mass. and stopped at the Kittery Trading Post to check things out and get some ammo, since they have always had plenty of choices. There were probably 5-10 long guns in their many racks and only a few boxes of weird cartridges in their several rows of ammo. Certainly an over-reaction to Democrat-fever?

Today, we went for a short ride and stopped at Hussey's General Store in Windsor, ME and they were fully-stocked with both long guns and handguns and they had plenty of ammo. Whew!!! Glad some folks aren't nuts.

We haven't had a huge shortage on guns out here, except maybe ARs, auto loading pistols, and shotguns, in the early days of the panic.
Ammunition got tight for the common rounds, and small primers became almost non-existent.
The only semi-covid price stuff I bought recently is a brick of small rifle primers I paid $100 for, which is about 40 bucks over what they usually cost here....
But equally they are all but unobtanium.

Beyond that I think I bought half a dozen or so guns since this started...

I've ordered from Kittery Trading Post a few times. One order was a Uberti Walker when no one else had one in stock for a decent price. Kittery was fast in shipping and answered my questions politely and equally fast. Bummer they're not getting new stock, but that's the case all over when a Dem gets elected in. Best gun salesman's of all time.

Glad you found ammo/guns elsewhere though.

Baïkal firearms are almost impossible to find in Canada since our federal government has restricted importations from Russia after the annexing of Crimea.
The general selection of available firearms is noticeably lower than usual both online and in store (popular calibers are more difficult to find). Ammunition is still available, but the choice has drastically shrunk ( for example, 6-7 choices of .223 instead of 50+). Some retailers don't have any ammo. This is likely due in small part to the pandemic, and in big part to the frenzy experienced South of the border, since our markets are pretty integrated. Prices have gone up accordingly, but not as much as in the States. The second hand market has not been so alive for some time, prices have increased a little there too, but not as much as in the USA if THR is a good source of information on this subject.
Henry single shot rifles seem to have vanished completely from my country.
AResque rifles have been banned. Handguns are next on the list. Not that I care much about it personally, but I still think it is a very bad thing philosophically.
Don't let it go without a good (yet legal, democratic, pacific) fight.

@Picher hey what's your favorite brand, weight of .22LR? I'm sure it depends on the nit picks of different guns but just generally speaking, what do you enjoy the best?

It depends on what I'm doing. For serious target work, I tend to use Lapua target ammo and left-over boxes of RWS R50 match ammo, but for plinking, Federal Automatch in a 325-round box whenever I can find it. I've had difficulty finding ammo lately. Surely, KTP has already ordered stuff to fully-stock the shelves soon. We don't go down that way very often these days, but am expecting to do so this summer to visit my Sister in NH.

Yes, KTP has been one of my favorite gun and supply dealers for over 40 years or so. I used to have an FFL and they were/are retail/wholesale (Shawmut Distributors). We stop there often when passing by to visit our daughter's family...east of Boston. It was disheartening to see empty shelves and the fastest I've ever been there and gone.
